Face Mask Campaign – 1,000 children’s books for Ghana
“One book can make a lasting impression”
COVID-19 has confined children over the world to their homes. Schools and libraries everywhere have closed their doors until further notice. While home-schooling and online classes are the logical next step for many, this is not an option for the communities with which Biblionef works, where parents and teachers alike have no access to online education.
Now, more than ever, books can make a difference to children stuck at home. Reading for pleasure unlocks their imagination, helps them discover new ideas, and gives them solace too. One book can make a lasting impression. This is the thinking behind the Biblionef Face-Mask Campaign; an initiative inspired by the desire of the Chief of Kyekyewre – Assin Nkran, in Atandanso Traditional Area to transform Assin Nkran in Central Region, Ghana into a model reading town. A town where everyone is an enthusiastic reader and continuously recommending books to each other. With your support, Biblionef will give 1,000 books to the children of Assin Nkran to keep and take home.
