My Name is Runa

Runa is an ordinary girl,

just like any other girl in Bangladesh.

Only one thing is different about Runa.

She has Cerebral Palsy.

This makes it more difficult for her to walk

and harder to speak clearly.

When children see her they say things like

“I don’t want to sit beside her in class” or

“I don’t want to play with her. She is stupid.”

But if nobody wants to sit beside her,

if nobody wants to play with her,

and if nobody even remembers her name,

what can Runa do?
